Privacy

Clio is designed around local-first operation.

The product is built so that your source material and structured memory can stay on your own machine. The website and billing layer still process some information necessary to sell and support the product.

Data Paths

What data is involved in each layer.

Website and support

We may receive the information you submit through support messages, account requests, or normal site operation logs.

Checkout and billing

Purchases, receipts, subscription management, and payment-related records are handled through Lemon Squeezy’s hosted commerce flow.

Local Clio memory

The default product design keeps your source files and generated .clio/ memory on your own machine.

Hosted model backends

If you choose a hosted inference provider, relevant request content may be sent to that provider according to the backend you configure.

Fully local path

If you use a local backend such as Ollama, the full Clio processing path can remain on-device.

Access And Requests

Questions about your data.

Account questions

If you need help understanding purchase or subscription data, contact support using the same email tied to the order when possible.

Provider-level data

Some records are created and retained by infrastructure and commerce providers as part of running the service securely.

Policy updates

This page may evolve as the product, hosting setup, and support processes become more mature.
